On today’s Zero Limits Podcast I chat with Dustin Osborne current Queensland Police Officer and Co-Chair of the Law Enforcement Officer Medical Working Group at Australian Tactical Medical Association. Dusty has spent roughly 15 years as a police officer spending most of his time posted to the Fortitude Valley Police Station. Fortitude Valley is the smallest policing division in Queensland but has over 130 staff dedicated to policing the division. It’s a very diverse area and Dusty regularly attended to violence disturbance with severe trauma (including mental health self harm). By 2014, Dusty got his Senior instructor qualification which is the highest level in instructing for Pistol, Rifle, Taser and hand to hand skills.
In 2016, Dusty was selected to be apart of the Active Armed Offender Team. While there he assisted in the design and development of the service skills response to responding to AAO incidents. During this time, I become an advocate for the victim of these events and went on to create Tactical First Aid.
