On today's Zero Limits Podcast I am joined in the studio guest Brett Pennell former NSW Police TOU sniper.
Sgt Brett Pennell, or "Fassi" to his mates, reflects upon a 20 year career spending majority of his career with the NSW Police Tactical Operations Unit as a sniper.
In February 2001, police shot and killed Jim Hallinan after a 36-hour stand-off on a remote property at Adjungbilly . Nearly 100 tactical response police were called to the property after the mentally ill 57-year-old began firing on officers who had gone there to arrest him. Shooting dead a civilian to protect his mates is the day Brett Pennell can never forget, and he relives a lifetime of high-risk work as a tactical officer and sniper
Cam's Cause is a registered charity created in the name of CPL Cameron Baird VC MG. It is run by a mix of civilians and members of the 2nd Commando Regiment and exists to support current and ex-serving Commandos and their families. Cam's Cause works closely with the Commando Welfare Trust; the distinction being that the CWT supports the wider SOCOMD community, where Cam's Cause only supports ECN 079 Commandos.
